ABOUT US

Precious Hearts Haven: Empowering Women and Girls in Zimbabwe

Established in 2020, Precious Hearts Haven is a registered non-profit organization based in Zimbabwe. Our mission is to eliminate, reduce, and prevent sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) against women and girls in the rural and vulnerable communities of Zimbabwe.

Our organization has been instrumental in shaping the policy direction of Zimbabwe in the area of GBV. Our relentless advocacy efforts culminated in the passing of the Domestic Violence Act in 2007, a significant milestone in our fight against GBV.

At Precious Hearts Haven, we believe in empowering women and girls to live free from violence and fear. We offer a range of services designed to support those affected by GBV. These include counseling, legal advice, and skills training, which equip women and girls with the knowledge and tools they need to reclaim their lives.

In addition, we provide shelter services, creating safe spaces where women and girls can heal and rebuild their lives in a supportive and nurturing environment. Our advocacy work continues to push for policies and legislation that protect women and girls from GBV.

Together, we are making a difference in the lives of women and girls in Zimbabwe, one precious heart at a time.

Step One: Sensitization

We empower victims by using cooking as a tool to help them break free from their hidden places. We discuss red flags, locate support systems, and aid other victims in escaping danger.

Step two: Safe Haven

We prioritize the safety of the victims. At this stage, we provide temporary shelter to those who are able to access it. Additionally, we offer legal advice, counseling services, and connect them to other support systems.

Step Three: Transition

At this stage, we provide multifaceted support to survivors, employing various therapeutic approaches to help them overcome the traumatic experiences they have endured.

Step Four: skills training

After witnessing that survivors have gained the strength to take control of their lives, we assist them in acquiring various skills. These newfound abilities empower them to earn a livelihood and progress toward a brighter future.
